A while ago I was very fortunate and received a pair of Dr Martens boots. But somehow I had some difficulties to make ’em look good on me. I am a tiny girl and I rather wear skirts and dresses instead of jeans. My style is not tough and Dr Martens are tough. See where I am going? But for this fall I really want to make the best use out of them, because they are so cool!
So for this blog post, I thought I would round up my absolute favourite girly inspo outfits that feature Dr Martens. And give you some links to similar (affordable) pieces. I hope it helps! Oh, and I stayed clear from the mom jeans and biker jackets because for my style those in combination with Dr Martens are just too cool. I am not that cool.
I follow this girl (@mvb) on Instagram and her outfits and photos are amazing. Truly way out of my league when it comes to her brands of choice (Chanel mostly) but she does know how to style the Dr. Martens boots effortlessly without looking like a 15-year-old boy in the 90s. If you click on this link, it will take you to her Instagram page.
Nothing is cosier than an oversized coat and a big sweater, am I right? I truly love this combination of black and beige/brown. It’s a combo that I will often grab and put back in my closet because I think it looks ridiculously mismatched. But hey, here’s the evidence that it does look good! And omg how good is that coat from Mango? I wish I had some spare cash to spend on that coat…
I just love this schoolgirl kind of look! I think it’s super comfortable, nothing is restricting you except Dr Martens that are not fully worn in. The struggle is real. My feet are too sensitive, but I’ll get there. So I linked a super affordable white shirt from H&M that is a perfect staple item for your wardrobe, but if you are lucky enough maybe you boyfriend or dad had a white men’s shirt and you could just borrow that. Saves money, right?
Btw I think she is wearing a Nike sweater, but that one is no longer in stores so I could not link that one, but a plain black sweater will do fine as well I think.
I hope this will help in your search for a more feminine slash girly way to style Dr Martens! I am certainly planning on some similar outfits, trying to use as much clothing items I already have!
Ps: Maybe you will like this post as well I wrote on my favourite Clinique product.
